I am deeply grateful for the over 100 e-mails I have received with very kind words re: our Water Forum. The only negative comments I have received was that we had too many people in attendance (and that UTSA had purchased two tables and I thought it was one). This was the largest attended luncheon event in the history of Pearl Stable – and that is not necessarily a good thing.
This was our 3rd
Major Forum and many would say it was the best. I would tend to agree for these reasons:
- Wonderful kick-off remarks by Mayor Castro and Speaker Straus.
- Bob Rivard’s decision to move from three participant presentations to a "serious conversation on water issues" format.
- A most impressive panel in Messrs: Puente, Labatt, and Gulley
- The presence of almost the entire Texas House of Representatives Committee’s on Natural Resources.
- KLRN television and Texas Public Radio’s agreement to broadcast our Forum in primetime.
- The invaluable input of our Planning Committee and the wonderful support of the SAWS staff.
Thanks to all for your support of this critically important Forum. - Mike Burke
