Mexico's Historic Energy Reform: An Opportunity for Texas
Luncheon from 11:30 - 1:30. Doors open at 10am for exhibit viewing.
On the heels of breaking news of the new Energy Reform Law in Mexico, SACTF turns the focus to our border neighbor. Under President Enrique Peña Nieto, Mexico has fundamentally reformed their power and hydrocarbon markets for the first time since Mexico’s nationalization of oil reserves in 1938. Now, Mexico will allow for new types of foreign investment, energy projects, and technology partnerships in these sectors. A whole new energy market has opened up on our southern border. The Forum will focus on these major themes:
- What are the big picture implications to the energy business in Mexico?
- What are the obstacles/opportunities for U.S. companies to break into a major new energy market (electric power and oil/gas); and
- How can the experience and resources of Texas companies in the Eagle Ford Shale development benefit Mexico?
